Real-Time Trade Sync with Rithmic R-Trader Pro (Tradecraft Beacon)

Rithmic is a very popular option for many futures traders. You can now use our native windows app, Tradecraft Beacon, to create a real time connection between your Rithmic account and your journal.

Download Tradecraft Beacon #

Go to your dashboard and scroll down to the Downloads section. Click on the Tradecraft Beacon link to download the installer.

Once the file has finished downloading, install Tradecraft Beacon in your PC.

Export your Rithmic orders every second #

Launch Rithmic R-Trader Pro in your PC, and create a new Recent Orders window.

In the Completed Orders section of the Recent Orders window, make sure that you have the appropriate columns. To add or remove columns, click on the table header and select Add/Remove columns in the popup that appears.

In order for Tradecraft Beacon to work, you need the following columns:

• Account
• Status
• Buy/Sell
• Qty To Fill
• Symbol
• Avg Fill Price
• Order Number
• Update Time (EST)
• Qty Filled

Once you have the correct columns displayed, click the Export as csv icon on the top right, and select “Export as csv periodically” in the dropdown that appears:

In the export menu, make sure that the csv gets exported every second, and that the “append” checkbox is unchecked.

Save the csv file in a convenient location in your pc. Rithmic will now automatically update it every second with your latest trading activity.

Connect Tradecraft Beacon #

Now that you have exported the csv file from Rithmic, launch Tradecraft Beacon.

You need to input the url of your journal and your secret API key, which you can both find in your dashboard.

Click on the Select CSV File to Watch button and locate the file you exported from R-Trader earlier. Everything is now ready, click START SYNCING to start sending your trades to your journal in real time.

NOTE: Rithmic does not keep track of MAE and MFE, so they will have a value of 0 for the trades you synced with Tradecraft Beacon.
